About the project.
The Piki project is a partnership between Unitec Institute of Technology, Lifewise Trust, and Auckland City Mission that aims to bring to a wider public, the amazing creative talents of people with lived experience of homelessness from within Tamaki Makaurau. The Piki whanau consists of a group of artists who have a wide range of practices, and come from a diverse range of backgrounds, but they all share a common passion for the visual arts. As you will see, they are creating powerful and unique works that are reproduced using the highest quality archival digital printing in limited editions of 50, and are for sale only through this site. The profits from the sales of the work are used to foster and support the Piki whanau in their creative practice, and to grow their capacity in the use of new technology and media.
